ATHANKSGIVING1111I  know it sounds crazy!      Am I saying that I saw my Thanks coming and coming in fast motion everyday?   Yes!   I am saying this!

And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

1 John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

James 4:3

You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Prayer Bible Verses from the Book of Psalms

Psalm 50:15

What do I mean?   Here’s the story:

A while back I was listening to some messages and I was challenged and inspired to start praying much more than I was.  So I did it. I began to start praying any number of hours from 3 to 7 hours a day. I did it for over 2 months…and a strange thing happened…I began to see the answers to my prayers during that time.   Sometimes the answers came the same day or the next day.  I was so Blessedf!  I  still am. But, I warn you…do not stop.ATHANKSGIVING1111

Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him], again I say Rejoice.” (Phil. 4:4, Amp. Bible)

COMMENT***: A couple of years ago I had to go to the DMV to get new tags for my car. Those of you who live in Virginia know what kind of an ordeal that can be. The office opened at 8 a.m. so I decided to be an “early bird” and arrive at that hour. NOT!!! When I pulled into the parking lot it was full and so was the office with a line of people outside. There was also a sign posted stating that it would probably take 2 hours before I would be waited on. I am so glad that I had recently heard a teaching by Joyce Meyer about enjoying your life no matter what the circumstances are. Fortunately, I had brought along some reading material, my Walkman and a real determination to enjoy the 2 hour stint. I closed my eyes and silently prayed in tongues; later I read my bible and listened to some praise and worship tapes. God has given us all things to enjoy (1 Tim. 6:17), even a two hour wait at the DMV.

***I am sure you have noticed that many of these messages deal with things that have happened in my life. I firmly believe that Christianity is not just a “Sunday go to meeting thing”. I’m convinced that it should prevail in every aspect of our lives. You agree?

NEWS FLASH: I just heard on the radio that the computers at the DMV’s in Virginia are down and new licenses cannot be processed until the end of the week!!!!! (After all these years, the DMV is still a “fun place”. )

The word honor is a word that not many people pay attention to; but it is a powerful word!

Honor comes from the word kabod which means heavy or weighty; or to give weight to someone. Think of a piece of paper, if a good wind comes along it will blow away.  And after that…most of us will forget about it.  However, if we put a paper weight on it…that paper’s not going anywhere.  It’s stable, it’s fixed and it’s been assigned that weight because it’s important to us…we don’t want to let it get away!

When we honor someone we grant them a position of authority or respect in our life.  With that respect, we grant them a courtesy.

I honor God the Father by doing things that please Him.  How do I know that I should do this? First, I want to do all that I can to please God because He first loved me and this love is unconditional and everlasting and because it is His desire that I do this; my bible is a guide for me.  It says in 1 Corinthians 6: 20:

1 Corinthians 6:20 (New International Version)

20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

My body includes my mind, my thoughts and my deeds.  I surrender myself to God.

I humble myself before Him.  When I enter into His courts…it is with thanksgiving and praise.

My honoring God is just mere words if I am not obedient.  Think about when you were a child; your parents or guardians were honored when you did what they told you to do.

Honor is something believers do…but the bible is very clear on who we can honor.

1. We honor God.

2. We honor kings, queens and all who are in authority over our lives.  We do this so that ouyr lives can be filled with peace.  1 Timothy 2: 1-4/

3. We honor Jesus who sits at the right hand of the Father and who is our great HIgh Priest.

4. Married people are to honor their spouses.

5.  The bible gives us very clear instructions on whom we should honor in addition to this.

6.  Honor the face of the old man.  (Lev. 19: 32)

7. Humility is before  honour.

We not only honor God with our lips (Matthew 15: 8) but also with the tithes and offerings, the obedience, the willingness to carry out His objectives, with our prayers, with our thanksgiving, with our seeking HIs face, with our praise, with our reaching the lost.  There are many ways to honor God…with our love to a God who firast loved us!  Thank You Father!   Thank You Lord!  Thank You Holy Spirit!
