It’s about to be 2014 and I’m about to be quite happy.  You see, like a lot of people I have been working on some stuff and I am expecting 20144 to be a much better year!   I did not say a pay off year or a jackpot year…but just better.  I am not just talking about finances, but I am talking about a combination of things.  Things like my creating a plan, refining it, sticking to it, disciplining myself when it comes to work, work in faith but not dreaming, finding a great balance with all of the things that I do.

From  spiritual perspective…I do not want to be dull or dependent.  I was to be just as bubbly and sparkly as I was when I first got saved and realized what it meant.  I want God to give me a burden for SOULS!   Yes just drop it in my lap God!   I can take it!  That’s gonna make me so so happy!

Happy New Year’s!

AAWHATIFQUOTEHold the hate mail.  Keep your good hat  on your head.  Count to ten.  I feel the same as you…basically.  I believe in being Thankful.  I also am not ashamed to publicly say who I am Thankful to! I am Thankful to God!

Thanksgiving has been compromised! It’s being hijacked by Silly Stores who want to make sales…and nobody saw it coming. Is it a Holy Day to you?   Or me?    Or should it be?

SO HERE IS WHY I  AM PROPOSING A REBELLION?????Actually I am proposing a Thanksgiving “RETHINKING”of the way that we do this such as how long, why and how.

Because 1 Day is not enough time even officially as it may to gather the family together and thank God.  Serious Dude?  We take a day to thank the secretaries and yes, they are great.     Moms, Christopher Columbus who accidentally discovered land that had already been discovered.  (nice move)   Fathers and presidents …and I am  a Patriot who loves my country. A lot of people that get a Holiday deserve it…but one day for Thanking God?  I can’t get with that one.  Not enough in my book.    And yes, I Thank Him regularly and that’s still not enough when I think about what He does, has done and will do for me…I’m just smothered with o.

Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him], again I say Rejoice.” (Phil. 4:4, Amp. Bible)

COMMENT***: A couple of years ago I had to go to the DMV to get new tags for my car. Those of you who live in Virginia know what kind of an ordeal that can be. The office opened at 8 a.m. so I decided to be an “early bird” and arrive at that hour. NOT!!! When I pulled into the parking lot it was full and so was the office with a line of people outside. There was also a sign posted stating that it would probably take 2 hours before I would be waited on. I am so glad that I had recently heard a teaching by Joyce Meyer about enjoying your life no matter what the circumstances are. Fortunately, I had brought along some reading material, my Walkman and a real determination to enjoy the 2 hour stint. I closed my eyes and silently prayed in tongues; later I read my bible and listened to some praise and worship tapes. God has given us all things to enjoy (1 Tim. 6:17), even a two hour wait at the DMV.

***I am sure you have noticed that many of these messages deal with things that have happened in my life. I firmly believe that Christianity is not just a “Sunday go to meeting thing”. I’m convinced that it should prevail in every aspect of our lives. You agree?

NEWS FLASH: I just heard on the radio that the computers at the DMV’s in Virginia are down and new licenses cannot be processed until the end of the week!!!!! (After all these years, the DMV is still a “fun place”. )

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.  Romans 11:  29

Thank you for your many kindnesses over the years, for opening your hearts to us, for compassion, kindness, Blessings, phone calls… Even if no one notices; God knows and He’ll be pleased with the good in you and the things you do for all of the people in your life.   However, you know…life is short…The bible says this life is but a vapor;  if you’ve ever lost a loved one…you know that’s true.    But God promises those who believe will live through all eternity.  I work for God and my job is to tell all of the world about Jesus and the promise of eternity, the remission of sins, deliverance, peace and most of all the love that God has for every one of us.

So, I’ll end this thank you note with a hope that no matter how far or how close that you are to God…that you will get closer.  That you’ll take time out to pray daily.   That God’s GLORY will shine through you.  And I give the GREATEST THANKS TO GOD FOR THAT HOPE!  Always remember that you were created to be Blessed; to be a Blessing…destined for GREATNESS in God’s eyes.    We  Love  you

Everybody can’t give thanks…but for true believers if you can’t; you might want to pray for God to help you get rid of the blockage!

People misunderstanding God is an age old phenomenon…which can be traced back to the bible.  The bible is very clear to show us where they “missed” it.

A great case of this was with Naomi.  She and her husband  and their two sons, moved away from there homeland because there was a famine.   One day Naomi’s husband Elimelech died.   Then there were only Naomi and the two sons.  Well, the boys got married to women from Moab(the new country) and some time after that both of the sons died.

Naomi was sad and rightfully so…but then she became confused…in her confusion she declared:

Would ye tarry for them till they were grown?  would ye stay for them from having husbands?  nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord is gone out against me. Ruth 1:  13

When we complain we are unable to be thankful. That’s a blockage.

Naomi clearly blames God for the changes in her family circumstances.  She does this several times…but there comes a time when things change and  her neighbors declare:

“And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsmen that his name may be famous in IsraelRuth 4: 13

Just think…Naomi lost faith for awhile…when things didn’t go her way she jumped to the conclusion that God had abandoned her.   She found out  in a very profound way  that it wasn’t true.

In the news yesterday…a  professional football player had a THANKS BLOCKAGE…read all about it:

But, all of this boils down to our ability to focus on the positive and not the negative, how much faith we have, what we truly know about God…and our ability to give thanks in any circumstance….even when we mess up.

I give thanks for any enemy that I’ve ever had whether I knew about them or not.  I ask God to Bless them and to help them to know that I never meant them any offense or harm. I give thanks for this day of walking, talking breathing and love all around me.  I give God thanks for being so patient with me.  I thank God for adopting me and treating me better than any father ever could.  I thank God for His mercy …giving me good when I did bad; giving me a pass when I didn’t earn one.  Giving me favor when I was too ashamed to ask for it because of my disobedience or missing it.  I thank God for teaching me so much and strengthening me to have unwaivering faith.  I am thankful for the tests and trials…the many cases that God sends my way.   Thank You Father for Your mercy and Your grace!

The word honor is a word that not many people pay attention to; but it is a powerful word!

Honor comes from the word kabod which means heavy or weighty; or to give weight to someone. Think of a piece of paper, if a good wind comes along it will blow away.  And after that…most of us will forget about it.  However, if we put a paper weight on it…that paper’s not going anywhere.  It’s stable, it’s fixed and it’s been assigned that weight because it’s important to us…we don’t want to let it get away!

When we honor someone we grant them a position of authority or respect in our life.  With that respect, we grant them a courtesy.

I honor God the Father by doing things that please Him.  How do I know that I should do this? First, I want to do all that I can to please God because He first loved me and this love is unconditional and everlasting and because it is His desire that I do this; my bible is a guide for me.  It says in 1 Corinthians 6: 20:

1 Corinthians 6:20 (New International Version)

20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

My body includes my mind, my thoughts and my deeds.  I surrender myself to God.

I humble myself before Him.  When I enter into His courts…it is with thanksgiving and praise.

My honoring God is just mere words if I am not obedient.  Think about when you were a child; your parents or guardians were honored when you did what they told you to do.

Honor is something believers do…but the bible is very clear on who we can honor.

1. We honor God.

2. We honor kings, queens and all who are in authority over our lives.  We do this so that ouyr lives can be filled with peace.  1 Timothy 2: 1-4/

3. We honor Jesus who sits at the right hand of the Father and who is our great HIgh Priest.

4. Married people are to honor their spouses.

5.  The bible gives us very clear instructions on whom we should honor in addition to this.

6.  Honor the face of the old man.  (Lev. 19: 32)

7. Humility is before  honour.

We not only honor God with our lips (Matthew 15: 8) but also with the tithes and offerings, the obedience, the willingness to carry out His objectives, with our prayers, with our thanksgiving, with our seeking HIs face, with our praise, with our reaching the lost.  There are many ways to honor God…with our love to a God who firast loved us!  Thank You Father!   Thank You Lord!  Thank You Holy Spirit!
