Lamentations 3:22-24
The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”

I will not cease to Thank God.  He is good.  He lovewes me unconditionally.  There is not one in the earth or the span of time that compares to Him.    This is the start of a fresh new year.  It’s an opportunity to get things right and we Thank God in advance for that.

Use these scriptures to meditate upon and today…make a vow to stay close to and before God you will never regret it:

Ruth 2:12
May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done. (NLT)

2 Samuel 2:6
May the LORD now show you kindness and faithfulness, and I too will show you the same favor because you have done this. (NIV)

Romans 1:8
… I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you … (NLT)

1 Corinthians 1:4
I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. (NIV)

2 Corinthians 9:13-14
Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. (NIV)

2 Timothy 1:3
… I thank God for you—the God I serve with a clear conscience, just as my ancestors did. Night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. (NLT)

Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace. (NKJV)

I was lying in the bed and did not want to get out.  I was depressed; it had been three days.   I want to assure you that this had never happened before.  The devil had been trying to find something to get me to worry and doubt and finally he had come up with something.   I was so distraught my plans were to never get out of the bed.  I heard a small sound in my heart.  It was like a whisper:  “Praise!”  I was thinking praise?  I don’t really feel like praising…but the more I thought about it; I felt it couldn’t hurt anything so I said a couple of “Hallelujahs!”  It’s funny now.

Then I tried it again…next I knew I was stomping on the floor praising God for ALL that He has done for me!   Well, I assure you that problem can’t bother me again.  IT was over a decade ago.  Praise will turn around that situation that you face…the one that’s bothering you.    Now here’s the reason: because the God we serve is a good God who will assure our victories, give us strength, pours His unconditional love on us and will fight all battles for us…There’s a lot of reasons to praise Him!

I attended a very small quiet Lutheran church.  It was extremely quiet, but it was a place of worship.  The worship was and is still very beautiful.  We were taught to glorify God.  Fast forward to my being in a full blown praising church where no one minds praising God!  But…let’s talk about being at home; away from the church.  When we wake up…there ought to be time spent giving God thanks and praise.  I assure you that if you can make this a habit your life will change.  Praise opens the doors to Blessings Unlimited…that’s a store we all want to shop in.  (smiles)  So, I encourage you today to pull your praise out, dust it off if you have to and from your heart…just praise Him!

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. — Psalm 18:1-3 KJ

Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

Proverbs 19:21

I meet so many people of all ages who want to find their purpose.  I often wonder if more people do not find their purpose…than those that do?  It’s not my answer to call.

Just look at the world around you,  take a close look at the careers, choices, lifestyles and habits of those that you know or observe and ask yourself if you think they are truly living the plan that God has for their lives.  Do you think that you are?   I truly hope that by now you have found your purpose and that you are walking in it and feeling fulfilled.  I cannot tell you what your purpose is.

I believe that God has many purposes for me and the amazing thing is that I may have stumbled into it as a result of so many missed steps and detours.  I just do not believe in coincidences…but I find myself pursuing a dream that has laid dormant in my heart for many years and I have great peace about it.

I am very thankful to God because only He could whisper in my ear over and over the way that He has; convincing me that I am walking in His plan for my life!

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  JEREMIAH 29: 11

Everybody can’t give thanks…but for true believers if you can’t; you might want to pray for God to help you get rid of the blockage!

People misunderstanding God is an age old phenomenon…which can be traced back to the bible.  The bible is very clear to show us where they “missed” it.

A great case of this was with Naomi.  She and her husband  and their two sons, moved away from there homeland because there was a famine.   One day Naomi’s husband Elimelech died.   Then there were only Naomi and the two sons.  Well, the boys got married to women from Moab(the new country) and some time after that both of the sons died.

Naomi was sad and rightfully so…but then she became confused…in her confusion she declared:

Would ye tarry for them till they were grown?  would ye stay for them from having husbands?  nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord is gone out against me. Ruth 1:  13

When we complain we are unable to be thankful. That’s a blockage.

Naomi clearly blames God for the changes in her family circumstances.  She does this several times…but there comes a time when things change and  her neighbors declare:

“And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsmen that his name may be famous in IsraelRuth 4: 13

Just think…Naomi lost faith for awhile…when things didn’t go her way she jumped to the conclusion that God had abandoned her.   She found out  in a very profound way  that it wasn’t true.

In the news yesterday…a  professional football player had a THANKS BLOCKAGE…read all about it:

But, all of this boils down to our ability to focus on the positive and not the negative, how much faith we have, what we truly know about God…and our ability to give thanks in any circumstance….even when we mess up.

I give thanks for any enemy that I’ve ever had whether I knew about them or not.  I ask God to Bless them and to help them to know that I never meant them any offense or harm. I give thanks for this day of walking, talking breathing and love all around me.  I give God thanks for being so patient with me.  I thank God for adopting me and treating me better than any father ever could.  I thank God for His mercy …giving me good when I did bad; giving me a pass when I didn’t earn one.  Giving me favor when I was too ashamed to ask for it because of my disobedience or missing it.  I thank God for teaching me so much and strengthening me to have unwaivering faith.  I am thankful for the tests and trials…the many cases that God sends my way.   Thank You Father for Your mercy and Your grace!
