AAWHATIFQUOTEHold the hate mail.  Keep your good hat  on your head.  Count to ten.  I feel the same as you…basically.  I believe in being Thankful.  I also am not ashamed to publicly say who I am Thankful to! I am Thankful to God!

Thanksgiving has been compromised! It’s being hijacked by Silly Stores who want to make sales…and nobody saw it coming. Is it a Holy Day to you?   Or me?    Or should it be?

SO HERE IS WHY I  AM PROPOSING A REBELLION?????Actually I am proposing a Thanksgiving “RETHINKING”of the way that we do this such as how long, why and how.

Because 1 Day is not enough time even officially as it may to gather the family together and thank God.  Serious Dude?  We take a day to thank the secretaries and yes, they are great.     Moms, Christopher Columbus who accidentally discovered land that had already been discovered.  (nice move)   Fathers and presidents …and I am  a Patriot who loves my country. A lot of people that get a Holiday deserve it…but one day for Thanking God?  I can’t get with that one.  Not enough in my book.    And yes, I Thank Him regularly and that’s still not enough when I think about what He does, has done and will do for me…I’m just smothered with o.

Too often, we forget to give thanks…before we see and answer….while we are waiting for an answer…after our answer comes.  Let’s be on out THANKFUL posts at all times!

I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.   Psalm 118: 21

Isaiah 9: 6  For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Years and years ago, a child was born in a small town called Bethlehem.  That child grew up and fulfilled the prophecy expressed by the prophet Isaiah years and years before that.  Because of his faith, his obedience and his love…we who have accepted him as our Lord and Savior…will live eternally just like he does…it’s his promise to us and he keeps his promises.

As far as this believer is concerned…it’s a Day of GREAT THANKSGIVING!  It is my sincerest aim that today you will merge Thanksgiving into your heart, your words, your prayers, in all that you do!

Yes, I was one of those people for a while.  We only gave praise in church. It wasn’t necessarily from being grateful all of the time…it was because everybody else was.  That’s religion.  Following the traditions of men.

God   knows the difference.  Because He is so full of mercy and compassion He has a way out for those that are “trapped” in that.  He encourages us to get to know Him.  To have a personal relationship with Him.  For when we do that…the false stuff leaves.

I used to be one of  “them.”   People who were uncomfortable with giving thanks and praising. I want to tell you that there are a lot of “them.”

They are that way for several reasons and I do not know them all.  I do know that I came from a little church of another denomination; and praise was serious but it was quiet.  I do not ever remember my pastor saying anything about giving thanks to God a lot, but I’ll bet he did.  I was just a kid and I didn’t know much.  Looking back,  I am thankful  for those people that kept that little church going.  They changed my life!    They were Germans surrounded by a huge African American population,  They ran out and embraced the  two neighborhoods that surrounded the church.  Souls were snatched back from the pit of hell!  They were rejected much…but they persisted!    I am so thankful for that!   Thankful to God Almighty!

As  a small child, every time that I had a problem or my family had a problem…I went to God.  He always answered.  I am forever thankful.

God brought me  through some calamities, protected me from certain danger and in my darkest moments…He sent light!

I ask you to take a moment and examine your life; I am certain that you have had moments when only God could intervene.  And he did…and you were grateful…but did you forget?  You see all of those times that God stepped in and saved or spared any of us…should be part of the core of our praise.  Another part of the core of that is our awareness of the great love that He has for us.

So…we all have the very roots necessary to be able to sing and shout and praise him.  There are more reasons than there are stars in the sky!

Psalm 28:7 –The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.

Psalm 69:30  I will praise the name of God with song, And shall magnify Him with thanksgiving.

Psalm 95:1-6 – O Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, And a great King above all gods, In whose hand are the depths of the earth; The peaks of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for it was He who made it; And His hands formed the dry land. Come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.

Have you ever heard of a THANKTHROUGH?   That’s a combination of a breakthrough preceded by thanksgiving.  But, people don’t get that.  In fact, they have the hardest time giving thanks…I mean REAL thanks BEFORE their prayers are answered!   We know that God is real, but it’s like many people don’t want to really exercise their faith.  And we’re doing it when we give thanks in advance.  The Lord spoke to my heart and told me to put up a Thanksgiving site; but in a long period of time few people come.  That’s okay…I’m happy to praise God and thank Him all by myself!  I promise God to thank Him not only for myself but for everyone that I pray for!   Let’s get this going…

Oh give thank to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples. -Psalms 105:1

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name. -Psalms 100:4

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. –Philippians 4:6

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Thy name, O Most High; to declare Thy loving-kindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness by night… For Thou, O Lord, hast made me glad by what Thou hast done, I will sing for joy at the work of Thy hands. How great are Thy works, O Lord! -Psalm 92:1, 4-5

Psalm 136:2-3 – Give thanks to the God of gods. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords. His faithful love endures forever.

1 Chronicles 16:8-9 – Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his miracles.

Psalm 136:4-9 – Give thanks to him who alone does mighty miracles. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to him who made the heavens so skillfully. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to him who placed the earth on the water. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to him who made the heavenly lights — His faithful love endures forever. The sun to rule the day, His faithful love endures forever and the moon and stars to rule the night. His faithful love endures forever.

Psalm 118:1 – Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

Psalm 138:2 – I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I will give thanks to your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness, because your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations” (Psalms 100:1-5).

“Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth” (1 Chronicles 16:8-12
